Lab Tour
ASB had a successful and exciting tour on 18 April of the various laboratories used by the Chair of Underground Construction at the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering. A particular thanks to Antonia Nousiou for facilitating the event and to Dr. Erich Pimentel for introducing us to the tools and tests used by the Chair. From custom diamond band saws to squeezing rocks to ground freezing in underground construction, we had a very informative tour (and an outstanding apéro).
General Assembly
On November 23rd the ASB general assembly was held in kleine Bauhalle.
Meet and Share your Research Day 2023
On 26 October, the Association of Scientific Staff at D-BAUG invited all students, researchers and professors to join the department’s annual meet and share event. Selected research projects and case studies were presented to showcase the manifold ways in which engineering research at D-BAUG helps to create more sustainable communities. Keynotes were given by Professors Eleni Chatzi and Max Maurer. In addition, there was be a poster session and, as always, a networking apéro at the end.

What a rollercoaster! After the cancellation earlier this year and the uncertain weather we we able to play outside and enjoy the last days of summer in style.

Friday afternoon, time to start the weekend!!
22nd of April, weekend ahead! We are happy that almost 100 ASB members joined our after work Apero on the HIL terrace. It was a perfect chance to meet people from our Department, exchange ideas and end the week with friends.

What an amazing turnout for the spring apero!!
After a seemingly endless period without real-life gatherings, we celebrated the onset of spring once again. More than 80 ASB members came out and celebrated together.
